Angel Day at Shappley's

A group of Wings Foundation volunteers who call themselves “Angels” meet every fourth Thursday of the month at Shappley’s to make items for cancer patients at West Clinic.

They meet from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and enjoy fellowship while cutting out hats, walker bags, seatbelt pillows for port-o-caths and stuffing heart and arm pillows. The port-o-cath pillows seem to be the most popular item because they cushion the seatbelt across the shoulder.

Much of the fabric is donated and when the finished items are delivered to patients, they are so thankful and can’t believe they are given with no charge.   Anyone who would like to join the group is welcome!
